OVERVIEW: This workshop is designed to marry the ceramic form with imagery, exploring surface decorations such as chinapaints, metallic lusters, flocking, gold leaf, and other finishes. This course encourages students of all disciplines to use their own imagery and designs, using traditional image transfer techniques. Expressing cultural heritage, storytelling, and indulging in layer after layer of lavish ornamentations and embellishments, participants will personalize their own ceramic works or store-bought ceramics. This course encourages a playful approach to engage in new connections between two- and three-dimensional elements, engaging with different painting techniques, textures, and materials to craft unique works of art.
