Definition of Yunomi (U-No-Me):
A cup with a trimmed or turned foot, without a handle. Unlike the more formal Chawan tea bowl, which is used during the Japanese tea ceremony, the Yunomi is made for daily (or informal) tea drinking. While a Chawan’s is not too tall and narrow for vigorous whisking of tea and held with two hands, a Yunomi is taller and not as wide and used mostly to drink tea made with tea leaves and held with one hand.
